The Rise of Women Purchasing Property in Turkey and Its Impact on the Real Estate Sector

Hakan Bucak, the founder and CEO of Mars Real Estate, highlighted that the proportion of women purchasing property in Turkey has reached its highest level in the history of the Republic. According to the Turkish Statistical Institute's data for 2024, total property sales increased by 20.6% compared to the previous year, reaching 1,478,025 properties. Women accounted for a significant portion of these sales, purchasing a total of 517,528 properties. This means that the proportion of women buying properties rose to 35%, with 35 out of every 100 properties being purchased by women.

Among the provinces with the highest rates of property purchases by women, Kırklareli ranked first with 42.3%, followed by Çanakkale with 42.2% and Balıkesir with 42%. On the other hand, the lowest rates of property purchases by women were in Muş with 22.6%, Ağrı with 23.2%, and Ardahan with 23.4%.

Hakan Bucak pointed out the increasing role of women in the real estate sector, especially in the purchase of first-hand properties, where women play a decisive role in influencing decisions. He emphasized that real estate projects that earn the trust and preference of women will not face sales risks. He also explained that women consider not only the investment value but also factors such as safety, quality of life, and sustainability, which makes the projects decided by women turn into more stable and sustainable investments in the long term.
