Op. Dr. Hamidreza SAMANI was born in 1971 in Tabriz. He finished his medical education at Tabriz Medical Faculty as one of the top 10 students and received the title of medical doctor. To fulfill his dream of becoming a plastic surgeon, a desire he had since his early student years, he took the Medical Specialty Exam (TUS) in 2002 and succeeded in securing the only foreign plastic surgery position offered in Turkey for the April 2002 term, joining the Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty Plastic, Aesthetic, and Reconstructive Surgery assistant staff. Upon graduating in 2008, he successfully performed several major surgeries rarely seen. The most significant of these was performing a cross-leg replantation surgery on a 3-year-old child who lost both legs in a traffic accident—a surgery of which there are very few examples worldwide—thus saving the child from being sentenced to a wheelchair for life.
