Dr. Merih Tanyel was born in Istanbul in 1981. In 2004, she graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry with a master's degree and started a doctoral program in the Department of Periodontology at the Istanbul University Institute of Health Sciences. During her doctoral education, she conducted studies in immunology and genetics in parallel with hands-on clinical training in periodontology. In 2010, she graduated with her doctoral thesis presentation titled 'Genetic Polymorphisms Seen in Individuals with Periodontitis', and earned the titles of 'PhD.' and 'Specialist in Periodontology'. Between 2004 and 2015, she worked as a consultant physician in the field of gum diseases and surgery at private clinics. Since 2015, she has been working with a well-coordinated team as a co-founder of Private Net Surgery and Aesthetic Mouth and Dental Health Polyclinic in Beylikdüzü, Istanbul. Her professional interests include digital dentistry, prosthetic treatments supported by CAD/CAM, periodontal diseases and surgery, dental implant treatments, hard and soft tissue augmentation procedures, laser-supported dental practices, aesthetic dentistry treatments, smile design, porcelain laminate treatments, and dental photography. She is a member of the European Federation of Periodontology and the Turkish Dental Association. She participates intensively in national and international congresses and trainings. Dr. Merih Tanyel has a good command of German and English.
Her hobbies include exploring new geographies, traveling, reading books, and diving. She is married and the mother of two children.
