Dr. Cemil Işık, who was born in Erzurum in 1989, was admitted to Atatürk University Faculty of Medicine in 2006. After graduation, he worked for two years as a general practitioner and family physician in the fields of primary healthcare and vaccinations. Due to the high prevalence in his region of cleft lip and palate disease, he became interested in plastic surgery. During this time, he passed the specialty exam and joined Selçuk University Department of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Zekeriya TOSUN, he performed intensive academic training and focused more on maxillofacial surgery and microsurgery, performing operations and research in those fields. He worked on 3D planning for complex reconstructive cases where surgical planning is crucial. One of these studies was awarded first place at the Turkish Plastic Surgery Congress in 2020 in Samsun. By preparing his thesis in a similar field, working on 3D ear reconstruction, Cemil Işık also received a first place award in the experimental branch the following year. He continued his operations at Bingöl State Hospital for 2 years. Throughout his academic career, he gave oral presentations at numerous national and international congresses. He has published 6 articles in international peer-reviewed journals and 2 articles in national journals. He is also a member of the Turkish Society of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery.
