He was born in Ankara in 1962. After completing his primary and secondary education in Ankara, he graduated from Kuleli Military High School in 1980, having passed the entrance exam in 1976. In 1980, he entered Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine. In 1983, he transferred laterally to GATA Faculty of Medicine. He graduated in 1986 and completed a one-year internship at GATA. He then served as a general practitioner at the 33rd Infantry Division in Kırklareli for two years. After passing the TUS exam in 1989, he began his specialty training in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at GATA. He completed his specialty in November 1994 and was assigned as Chief of the Plastic Surgery Clinic at Diyarbakır Military Hospital.
