Oral and maxillofacial diseases and surgery

I was born in Ankara in 1974. I completed my primary, secondary, and high school education at T.E.D. Ankara College. I started my education at Ankara University Faculty of Dentistry in 1991 and graduated in 1996. During the pre-graduation academic year of 1994-1995, I participated in clinical and laboratory studies for one month at the Panum Institute Dental School (Copenhagen, Denmark) through TurkDentSIC (Turkish Dental Students International Committee - the Student Branch of the Turkish Dental Association). In 1997, I started working as a research assistant at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Diseases and Surgery, Faculty of Dentistry, Ankara University. During this period, I completed a total of 15 months of rotations in the Departments of General Surgery, Anesthesiology, ENT, and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the same university. In 2003, I obtained the title of Specialist in Oral, Dental, and Maxillofacial Surgery with my thesis titled “Investigation of clinical and morphometric changes in oral mucosal lesions with malignant potential.” In the same year, I started working as a specialist dentist at Başkent University Adana Application and Research Center. In 2005, I was appointed Assistant Professor at Başkent University Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Oral, Dental, and Maxillofacial Diseases and Surgery. In the same department, I was awarded the titles of Associate Professor in 2007 and Professor in 2013. From June 2010 to February 2018, I was the clinical director of the Department of Oral and Dental Health at Başkent University Adana Application and Research Center. On 27.02.2018, I resigned from this position and started serving in my own clinic. My main areas of interest are oral surgery, advanced dental implantology, maxillofacial deformities, maxillofacial trauma, and oral diseases. I have publications, oral presentations, and national/international books that have also been published in international journals. I am a member of the Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (AÇBİD) and the Turkish Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (TAOMS). I am married, have one child, and have a good command of English.
