Prof.Dr. Cüneyt Özek was born in İzmir. After graduating from Ankara Science High School in 1982, he completed his medical education at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, Ankara, in 1988. In 1992, he successfully passed the ECFMG exam, which consists of clinical, preclinical, and English sections required to practice medicine in the United States. Following a 3-year General Surgery residency at Istanbul Kartal Training and Research Hospital, he began his specialty training in 1992 at Ege University Faculty of Medicine (İzmir) Department of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. In 1997, upon completion of his training, he earned the title of Specialist in Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery.
