After completing his secondary education at İzmir Atatürk High School, he was admitted to Istanbul University (Çapa) Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1979. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in 1985 and completed his compulsory service in Anatolia. In 1986, he started his residency in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Istanbul University Istanbul (Çapa) Faculty of Medicine. He has carried out studies especially on maxillofacial and skin cancers.
