Prof. Dr. Cüneyt Özek was born in Izmir. After graduating from Ankara Science High School in 1982, he completed his medical education at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, Ankara, in 1988. In 1992, he successfully passed the ECFMG exam, which consists of clinical, preclinical, and English sections, required to practice medicine in America. Following a 3-year General Surgery residency at Istanbul Kartal Training and Research Hospital, he started his residency in the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery at Ege University Faculty of Medicine (Izmir) in 1992. He completed his training in 1997 and received the title of Specialist in Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery.
