Selman Yılmaz Çiçek completed his primary and secondary education in Samsun, and his high school education at a private Science High School in Istanbul. His lifelong interest and curiosity in art and science led him to the field of dentistry.
He graduated with honors from Istanbul Medipol University Faculty of Dentistry in 2018 with a master’s degree, as a result of a successful educational career.
In the same year, he ranked 166th in the Turkish Dental Specialization Exam (2018-DUS).
In 2019, he started his specialization training in the Department of Periodontology, Faculty of Dentistry, Ondokuz Mayıs University, and in 2022 successfully completed his specialization thesis and scientific exam titled “Investigation of Salivary Ceramide-1-Phosphate and Prostaglandin E2 Levels Before and After Phase I Periodontal Therapy in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes and Periodontitis,” earning the title of "Periodontologist."
As a Specialist in Periodontology, he continues his work in all fields of dentistry, especially gum diseases, implantology, aesthetic and digital dentistry applications, at Private DENTMODEL Oral and Dental Health Clinic.
His professional interests include the treatment of gum diseases, the relationship between diabetes and periodontitis, periodontal plastic-aesthetic surgeries, periodontal microsurgeries, soft tissue surgeries, periodontal regeneration, gum recession treatment, treatment of bone loss, advanced implant surgeries, peri-implantitis treatment, vertical and horizontal bone augmentations, stem cell therapies, platelet-rich blood products, digital dentistry, one-session dentistry, CAD-CAM technologies, and dental photography.
Outside of the dentistry profession, Selman Yılmaz Çiçek is interested in photography and underwater diving (SCUBA).
