Cosmetic treatment of burns and accidents

Ömer Özkan is a name who has achieved many national and international successes and milestones, such as performing the world's first uterus transplant and Turkey's first double arm transplant.

He began his education in Ankara and, after graduating from Ankara Cumhuriyet High School in 1988, received his medical education at Hacettepe University. Özkan earned his doctor of medicine degree in 1995 and completed his specialty training at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in the field of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. After 2001, Özkan began working at Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine, during which time he continued working in various subfields of microsurgery at some of the world's leading centers. He completed clinical fellowships in Perforator Flaps and Supermicrosurgery in Japan; in plastic and hand surgery at I/Shou University, E-Da Hospital in Taiwan; and general microsurgery at Bogenhausen Technical University in Munich, Germany, with the EURAPS Young Plastic Surgeons scholarship. Özkan became an assistant professor in 2004 and earned his associate professorship in 2006. Some of the awards he has received include Akdeniz University Incentive Award (2007), ATSO Scientist of the Year Award (2010), and Ministry of Health Doctor of the Year Award (2011).

Face and body aesthetics, breast reconstruction, repair of tissue losses, restoration of facial muscles in facial nerve paralysis, mandibular reconstruction, and vaginal reconstruction are among the topics he is currently actively interested in.
