Prof. Dr. Suat Nazım Çerkeş was born in Istanbul in 1959. He completed his primary and secondary education in Ankara. After graduating from Ankara Science High School in 1977, he entered Hacettepe Medical Faculty in the same year. He graduated from Hacettepe Medical Faculty in 1983. Between 1983-1985, he completed his compulsory service in Ordu-Ünye. In 1985, he started his residency in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Istanbul Medical Faculty. During his residency, he especially worked in the field of microsurgery and initiated microsurgery practices at Istanbul Medical Faculty.
