He was born in Bayburt on 02.06.1968 as the first child of a high school teacher father from Erzincan Refahiye and a primary school teacher mother. He does not remember Bayburt at all. Although his earliest memories are vague, they belong to Erzincan, where his family came upon being assigned there. However, with his father's academic career beginning at Erzurum Atatürk University, he lived all his educational life, childhood, and youth in Erzurum.
