After graduating from Selçuk University Faculty of Dentistry in 2008, in the same year, she started the periodontology doctorate program at Başkent University Faculty of Dentistry and completed her doctorate and specialization training in periodontology in 2012. In 2012, she spent a short period as a visiting researcher at Harvard University's Forsyth Institute and received the title of Associate Professor in 2018. Since 2013, she has been serving as department head and faculty member in faculties of dentistry, and she provides specialization training in periodontology and implantology. Associate Professor Dr. Elif Öncü has received advanced training in implantology and aesthetic plastic gum surgeries at several centers in Europe such as Malo Clinic in Portugal, the Faculty of Dentistry in Bologna (Italy), and the University of Frankfurt. Elif Öncü has authored over 100 articles published in indexed journals and has given numerous presentations at national and international congresses and professional meetings.
