Pulpitis (inflammation of the dental nerve)

I was born in Izmir in 1972. After completing my primary (Agah Efendi Primary School) and high school education (Eşrefpaşa High School) in the Konak/Hatay district where I spent my childhood, I graduated from Gazi University Faculty of Dentistry, which I entered by exam, in 1994. After working for a while at my father's dental clinic in Kemeraltı, Izmir, I started my career as a Dentist in the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) in 1997.
I started my doctorate in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Gülhane Military Medical Academy in 2000 and completed it in 2004. After working as a Specialist Dentist at various levels, I successfully passed the exam to the Interuniversity Board (ÜAK),
and in 2012, I was awarded the title of Associate Professor in the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Between 2012-2019, I served at Health Sciences University Faculty of Dentistry (GATA Dental Sciences Center).
Additionally, in 2006, I completed a master's degree in Total Quality Management focused on Health Enterprises at Selçuk University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences.
Academically, I have published over 65 national/international articles and participated in more than 25 national/international congresses (mainly USA, UK, Germany, Belgium) with over 200 poster/oral presentations. In these congresses, I received 6 first-place awards for oral and poster presentations.
In 2019, upon my own request, I resigned from Health Sciences University and was appointed as Professor at Biruni University Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
I am continuing my 29-year professional career in Alsancak-Izmir, together with my wife, Orthodontics Specialist Handan Altug, at our private clinic.
I am a member of the Turkish Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
