He was born on 12.09.1965 in Ankara. In 1987, he graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Dentistry. In the 1987-1988 academic year, he completed the MBA program at Istanbul University Faculty of Business Administration, Institute of Business Economics. In 1988, he continued his studies at Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Periodontology, and in 1989 at the newly established Department of Oral Implantology. In 1993, he obtained the title Dr. Med. Dent by defending his doctoral thesis titled 'Comparative SEM Examination of the Effects of Various Oral Hygiene Devices on Dental Implants'. In the same year, he served as a visiting faculty member at the University of Pennsylvania in the USA. In 1995, he became an associate professor at the university and received the title of professor in 2001. He continues his work in the same department. He is currently the president of the Turkish Society of Oral Implantology and a member of numerous scientific associations. He is married and has one child.
