In the final year of his specialization in 1989, he won an educational scholarship from the South Korean Government and worked for one year at the INJE Medical Faculty Plastic – Reconstructive – Craniofacial - Aesthetic and Microsurgery Center in Seoul, South Korea, alongside Prof. Dr. Se Min Baek and his team, conducting research and studies in the fields of orthognathic, craniofacial, hand surgery, microsurgery, and aesthetic surgery. In 1991, he became a specialist in plastic surgery and began working as an assistant professor in the same year.
In 1996, for one year in the USA, California (UCI), at the University of California Irvine Medical School Plastic and Reconstructive and Burn Surgery Clinic, he conducted various clinical and experimental studies and research on burns, plastic and aesthetic surgery, and at the Beckman Laser Institute, he worked on the vascular and other clinical applications of lasers, producing publications in these fields.
In November 1998, he received the title of University Associate Professor. He began working as a faculty member in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at GATA Ankara. In 2001, he was appointed Chief of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at GATA Istanbul Haydarpaşa Training Hospital. He received the title of Professor in 2004. In 2008, he voluntarily retired and is currently working independently. He is married with two children and speaks English.
Prof. Dr. Bahattin Çeliköz has 89 international and 55 national publications, 11 book chapters, 51 international presentations, and 85 national presentations.
