Position Title: Media Officer
Location: Istanbul - Turkey (with readiness to travel to Libya)
Contract Duration: 3 months (probationary period with the possibility of extension based on performance and competency assessment)
Reporting to: Line Manager
Organizational Background:
Sheikh Al-Taher Al-Zawi Charitable Organization (STACO) is a non-profit organization committed to delivering humanitarian aid and development assistance across Libya. Our initiatives focus on community development, education, healthcare, and providing essential aid to vulnerable populations, including internally displaced persons (IDPs), migrants, and those affected by crises. The organization's headquarters is located in Tripoli, Libya, and it also has an office in Istanbul.
As we seek to amplify our impact and share powerful stories from the ground, we believe in the pivotal role of digital media in conveying our message and engaging with our community and partners. We are therefore looking for a creative and dedicated Media Officer to join our team in Istanbul to lead our efforts in showcasing our humanitarian mission and projects to a wider audience.
Job Summary:
Our organization is seeking a talented and creative Media Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and enhancing the organization's visual identity and digital presence across all platforms. Core responsibilities include creating high-quality visual content, including images and videos, and comprehensively managing social media accounts and the official website. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute directly to communicating the organization's message and achieving its goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Graphic Design and Video Production:
Design and create all professional visual materials for the organization, including social media designs, reports, promotional posters, and infographics.
Photograph and cover the organization's events and activities.
Produce and edit distinctive and engaging videos to showcase success stories and various projects.
Social Media and Website Management:
Full supervision of the organization's pages on social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).
Regularly update and manage the content of the official website, ensuring its efficient operation.
Analysis and Development:
Continuous coordination with other departments to ensure the consistency of the media message with the overall objectives.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Experience: A minimum of two years of proven practical experience in graphic design, video editing, and social media management. (A portfolio submission is mandatory).
Technical Skills:
Full proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite design software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
Full proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects).
Good experience in website management, with knowledge of Content Management Systems (like WordPress) preferred.
General Skills:
High level of creativity and the ability to generate innovative ideas.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Commitment to accuracy and attention to detail.
Important Note on Travel:
Please be aware that this position requires high flexibility and the ability to travel to Libya, where the organization's headquarters is located. The applicant must be fully prepared to travel when needed to follow up on activities and projects.
