The obligation to pay the rents of residences and workplaces, which were taken by the Ministry of Finance on January 1, 2008 to prevent tax losses and evasions, via PTT or banks continues.

So, how much is the penalty for paying the rent in cash?

Penalties for paying rents in cash for workplaces

1- 1,600 TL for first-class merchants and freelancers

2- 800 TL for second-class merchants, farmers who keep books and those whose earnings are determined to be 800 TL in simple terms

3- 5% of the amount subject to this transaction for each transaction, not less than 400 TL for those other than those stated in the above clauses.

Penalties for paying rents in cash for residences

The amount of penalty applied for rents exceeding 500 TL is 5 percent of the rent.

Which rental incomes are not subject to penalty?

– Housing rents under 500 TL

– Collections related to housing and workplace rental income made through court and enforcement

Who pays the penalty for paying the rent in cash?

If the house is rented and the rental income is not deposited through a bank or PTT, the owners of the house will pay the penalty. If the workplace rent is not paid through a bank, both the owners and the tenants have to pay the penalty.
